Missing Progression Explanation

I’ve received a lot of comments lately regarding missing progression. Specifically, missing progression for normal Cataclysm bosses. This is due to Blizzard’s API missing achievement data related to those bosses’ achievements. You can find more in the thread I posted here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3082210898. I spoke to someone from their API team and they are aware of the bug but don’t have a timeline as to when it will be fixed (hopefully soon!). Some progressions sites use different data to come up with their progression. I’m using individual character achievements and that is unfortunately affected by this bug. problem with tsingtaø progression: missing nefarian and trone of the four winds are completed in normal mode.

As this is a GUILD-progression site, why not track the guild achievements, rather than personal achievemnts?
I’ve noticed, that if you have people that have done a boss on individial basis (e.g. To4W was open for pugging before we concentrated on it as a guild), dates are screwed once you get a guild kill..
To4W-Council had a date set 1+ months earlier that we actually did it, because some peope in the guild had pugged it.
same thing happens, if you mass-recruit people have killed a boss you haven’t progressed to yet.
IMO the most correct would be to detect the guild kill date..
Same with e.g. ICC-25HC Gunship battle (back at lvl80).. We had so many (17+) who had pugged the 25man version that it showed in our statistics, even though we’re a 10man guild and had never done it on 25man..
Why let guildprogress.com show you’ve done a kill you have never even attempted (as a guild)?

I’ve looked into doing this but there aren’t guild achievements for every boss that we track here. For example, there is no way to discern if a guild has killed a normal boss in a dungeon. I believe it only tracks completion of the entire normal dungeon.

For “new” content, guild achievement tracks all bosses..
Normal mode bosses are tracked in e.g “Firelands Guild Run” achievement (i.e. http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/guild/shadowsong/Excito/achievement#15079:15087:a5983 for my guild). While this is a group achievement, it’s no different from personal achievements.
Heroics bosses are unfortunately only tracked as End-Dungeon-Bosses

It looks like it tracks some, but not all, of the bosses. For example, how can we track Heroic: Majordomo? There isn’t a specific guild achievement for nor is there a Heroic: Firelands Guild Run guild achievement.

We are missing reg BWD Nef(9/26) and reg BOT Cho’gall and The council (9/25). But for some reason our Firelands progression got posted… odd.
