Crawler Update
by Xxav on April 30, 2009, 1:00 pm, under WoW Crawler
I just rolled out a forced update for the crawler. I fixed a bug that would cause the crawler to crash after it had been running for a long time. Other updates are listed on http://crawler.guildprogress.com.
I have plans to add a feature to the crawler to allow users to choose a guild to crawl. This way you would not have to force an update through the site. Any suggestions, comments, or complaints about the crawler?

I think it would be better if I could choose a server to crawl. I’d very much like to crawl my server every 6 or so hours and then crawl other random servers/guilds when it is free. I have a crawler running on my home server 24/7 so this feature would be very useful to me.

Good idea. I’ll put that on my list.

I’d like to have it so that it would crawl your chosen server or guild when you press a button, something easy like a right click on the system tray icon. But otherwise it would just function normally. I’d prefer this to having to choose a server or guild to crawl every time I wanted to.
Downside is it’d have to save that setting somewhere.

Yep. This is something I plan on implementing soon(tm).
